Each genuine follower of the Lord Jesus is expecting Him to come back soon so that his wish for years could be realized. And he can receive the Lord’s promise and enjoy His blessings. Especially in the end-time, our heart of longing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ becomes more eager. It is written in Acts 1:11, “this same Jesus … shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.” And it says in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Therefore, the brothers and sisters firmly belie ... Hello brothers and sisters of Our Daily Devotionals,

Nowadays disasters are getting worse and worse all over the world and the situation in every country is very tense. The prophecies in the Bible of the Lord’s second coming have basically been fulfilled, yet I have still not welcomed the Lord. I’m afraid that I will be abandoned by the Lord. Therefore, I’d like to ask for your advice: What should I do to hear God’s voice and greet the Lord’s second coming?

Editor’s Note: When it comes to the manner of the Lord Jesus’ return in the last days, most brothers and sisters believe that the Lord Jesus will publicly appear to us upon a white cloud. But some brothers and sisters feel puzzled about this because it is also prophesied in the Bible that the Lord will come in secret like a thief. Then, how on earth will the Lord return in the last days? This issue is related to whether we can welcome the Lord’s return, so it deserves our seeking.

At the co-worker meeting, Suxing said with a forlorn expression, “Brothers and sisters, recently I’ve been mulling over a problem: Since we’ve believed in the Lord, we’ve been longing for the Lord t ... Read more »

Can we enter the kingdom of heaven if our sins are forgiven?

Sin, as a Christian, is something I couldn’t be more familiar with. It hovers around me every day, it’s always close, and I can’t get rid of it! The constant cycle of sinning and confessing had always troubled me, because if the Lord ever returned, could I enter the kingdom of heaven like this? In my torment, I thought of Paul’s words, “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that condemns?” (Romans 8:33–34). “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Yes, I am one of the Lord’s elect, the Lord has already forgiven all my sins, and no matter whether they a ... Read more »

Hello brothers and sisters of Our Daily Devotionals,

We are now in the last stage of the last days, I’ve seen in the news that all kinds of disasters are growing and growing in scale, and whether or not I can be caught up before the disasters and made into an overcomer before the disasters are key issues for me. My opinion about these two issues is that, so long as we hold to the name of the Lord no matter what happens, work hard for the Lord and do not turn back as we go through all manner of adversities, then we can become overcomers. And when the disasters come, we can then be caught up into the sky to meet with the Lord and enjoy His promise. But some have questioned my opinion, saying that some people have now achieved this and that, moreover, the disasters are growing in scale and many kinds of disasters have befallen us already, and yet still no one has been seen being raised up into the sky ... Wang Lan is an important co-worker of a certain Local Church. Seeing that the Lord Jesus didn’t come back in 2000, many brothers and sisters had become cold in faith and love since then, and didn’t attend meetings. Although she preached and worked everywhere out of courtesy, as a matter of fact she was extremely perplexed in her heart. The Lord Jesus didn’t come to rapture them in 2000. Was it because the Lord didn’t come or because they walked the wrong path and were abandoned by the Lord? She didn’t know. Furthermore, she didn’t dare to expose these questions either …

The co-worker Li Hua was always active and enthusiastic. However, all these time ... Read more »

Editor’s Note:

Many Christians believe that baptism means that one’s sins are forgiven by the Lord Jesus and one is reborn. But what’s confusing many of us is why we still can’t get rid of the shackles of sin after being baptized and often live in the state of sinning. Does Christian baptism mean being reborn?

When I was young, my father explained baptism to me. He said, “When someone is being baptized, they are fully submerged in water. That means they have ‘died’ with the Lord Jesus. After being pulled from the water, they are reborn, and they have completely broken away from the sins of the past, starting to have a new life. They will live for the Lord Jesus until they die. The Lo ... Read more »
